Archeage 101 - Section Fifteen: Consumables
Key Terms in this Section
Consumables
I had previously done a video on consumables, but that video is completely and totally outdated now, so we are going to start from square one on this front.
In the past there were about 15 different consumables that you could use to boost your combat stats. Now, while a lot of these items still exist, you can no longer make them, so I’m not going to consider them part of the game as their cost is going to be prohibitive for new players.
Assorted Ribs
Assorted Ribs are pretty standard buff item to be used at all times, PvE or PvP. They grant 1900 Health, and 44 to your primary attack or healing power. For PvE content they also add 3.8% Damage Dealt and reduce PvE damage received by 3.2%
Mana Restore Potions
If you are going to be chewing through a lot of mana, you will want to keep a healthy supply of Mossy Pools and Kraken’s Mights on you. As talked about during the crafting chapter, if you make these at a Apothecary House you can sometimes get twice as many for your investment.
If you have plenty of gold to burn, you can use Faint Memory and Stormraw Wave. If you have a large
mana pool these two items can be beneficial as they restore mana based on a percentage of your entire mana pool.
Maths
Since a Stormraw Wave grants 37% of your mana pool, you’d want to have at least 11,086 mana if you are going to use them, otherwise use Kraken’s Mights
Since a Faint Memory grants 22% of your mana pool, you’d want to have at least 11,209 mana if you are going to use them, otherwise pop a Mossy Pool.
Mana Restore Food
For mana restoration outside of combat you will want to have Soups on you. You don’t always need to buy the top tier soup, in fact sometimes the best soup doesn’t restore more Mana than a Hearty Soup.
Maths
If you are wanting to use the very best soup it is Aromatic Soup . It restores 40% of your mana pool, so you want to have at least a mana pool of 11,600 or you will want to just stick with Hearty Soup which restores 4,640.
NOTE - For the health restore potions, due to the fact that title XP and healing received buff will change how much health you receive from a potion, I’m going to do the maths based on Title Level 1 and 0% Healing Received. If you want to make sure you are getting the best bang for your buck, you will have to do your own math with your particular stats.
Health Restore Potions
Health pots are another staple crop of the game. You can’t always rely on your healer to heal you, although with the changes to healers there shouldn't bee a need for you to be chewing through potions.
Maths
Since a Alluvion Love grants 37% of your health pool, you’d want to have at least 19,054 health if you are going to use them, otherwise use Nui’s Novas.
Since a Sweet Starlight grants 22% of your health pool, you’d want to have at least 19,209 health if you are going to use them, otherwise pop a Desert Fire.
Health Restore Food
For restoring health when outside of combat you can use Sandwiches. The one you will want to be
using is the Deluxe Sandwich unless you have a lot of spare gold to burn.
Maths
If you are wanting to use the very best sandwich it is Savory Bread. It restores 40% of your health pool, so you want to have at least a mana pool of 16,135 or you will want to just stick with Deluxe sandwiches that restore 6,454.
With consumables finished we will now discuss The Hero System.
