What is Archeage 101?

 

Archeage 101 is a project now three years in the making. What started off as a YouTube video series has now evolved into a combination new player guide that incorporates a website, a YouTube channel, and a Twitch Channel. Being a Korean based game with a NA/EU publisher, we are never quite sure of all the little intricacies with patches. Given that Archeage Unchained is going to follow a new and unique business model, it really will be its own game, so it needs to be presented as such.

Why did you make it?

I started making videos when I was a member of a guild in Revelation Online. I would discover things and I quickly learned that text guides didn’t always give the answers in the best possible presentation manner. Getting asked the same question 10-15 times a day means that you clearly know what you are doing, but having to stop what you are doing to go and help people 10-15 times a day does start to take its toll on your ability to meet your own goals.  

 

A good guild member should be willing to do this; a good guild leader must.  

 

When I went back to Archeage I discovered that instead of using three hours a day answering questions and giving the same short answers over and over again, I could present the material in a more structured format so that the answer was reusable. Even better, it meant that the answer was shareable. 

 

Do you make Custom Videos?

 

I do make custom videos based on topics. If enough people are asking me for a video, I will move it up in priority on the production schedule. This product is designed to be a community service. That does not mean I can always stop what I’m doing and make the video you want right now. Sometimes I know what groundwork needs to be laid before we get to a topic. For immediate answers, check out my stream on Twitch which is a more laid back and casual classroom. 

 

Will you continue to cover both Legacy and Unchained content?

 

Regrettably I will not. I have found over the last four years that in order to be a good content creator you have to be up to your neck in the content you make. Although I am retired and it would seem that I have all the time in the world to just play video games and make content, I am first and foremost a father and husband and while the Paradox Gaming Network is like family to me, my real world responsibilities will always take precedence over my Content Creation. 

 

While I love Archeage and I’m coming back for one more run, I cannot simultaneously support Unchained and Legacy content and the other projects I have started working on. I will do everything in my power to ensure that the content I make still has some relevance to Legacy players to the best of my knowledge and ability. I hope that there are content creators in the community who want to step up to the plate and help with the Legacy side of this.
